Horny Goat Weed is an ancient Chinese herb that grows in the wild at higher altitudes. This herb is part of the genus Epimedium, well known as ‘yin yang huo.’ Horny goat weed can be consumed as a tea, however it is also available as a capsule or tablets.
Epimedium or Horny Goat Weed benefits
It has been reported that horny goat weed has positive effects on the immune system, it can treat memory loss, and symptoms of menopause. However, this herb became known by its sexual enhancing properties where it boosts low sex drive.
Many believe that certain flavonoids found in this plant promote estrogen, and or stimulate the production of testosterone, which may improve sexual energy. In men, horny goat weed is believed to help with erectile dysfunction problems.
Even though horny goat weed has been mainly promoted as a herb to treat erectile dysfunction in men, the research still does not have factual results which will prove such a claim.
